RCRA LARGE QUANTITY GENERATORS (GREATER THAN 1000 KG/MONTH HAZARDOUS WASTE GENERATION)
WRITTEN PLAN CITATIONS: 40 CFR 265 Subpart (C) and (D) CONTENTS OF EMERGENCY PLAN: The written plan must address the following:Actions to be taken in response to emergencies;
Arrangements with police, fire, and hospital officials;
List of names, addresses, phone numbers of personnel qualified to act as emergency coordinators
List of emergency equipment; and
Evacuation plan for the facility.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS CITATION: 40 CFR Part 265.16 SCOPE OF TRAINING: Provide specific training to employees involved in hazardous waste management (i.e., generating, handling, storing, labelling/recordkeeping). Training includes:
general hazardous waste management;
use, inspection, repair, replace emergency and monitoring equipment;
communication or alarm systems;
response to fires and explosions;
response to groundwater contamination incidents;
shutdown of operations;
recordkeeping of employee training.
TRAINING FREQUENCY: Within six months and annually thereafter.
